Have an idea for a novel but don’t have the time to write it? Or maybe you’re desperate to get your life down into a memoir? Hiring a ghostwriter might be just the thing.

I’ve worked with lots of writers, and non-writers with ideas, to conspire to write the whole thing, or offer coaching and advice on an ad-hoc basis.

Let’s face it, writing is harder than you think. There’s a lot of staring dreamily into space, forgetting what you wanted to say after the perfect line passes through your mind, and the inevitable reading through the first draft only to realise that the amazing chapter you wrote at 2 am after a few glasses of wine, stinks worse than the bog of eternal stench.

A few whiskeys, an Ernest Hemmingway does not make. Forgive my Yoda syntax but it makes my point perfectly. It takes years of blood, sweat and tears. Of trying and failing a thousand times, and getting back up for more heart-rending critique to become a good writer. So why not let a professional do it, while you concentrate on what you do best.

It’s possible to get your life story out there, to share your wisdom with the world without having to learn how to write for yourself.

Maybe you want to add authority to your coaching business. People do respect service providers who have written a book on the topic. It not only lends credibility but it also supports people in understanding your concepts and teachings in an academic style format.

People still consume more knowledge in written forms than any other way and that is unlikely to change.

Guide to Pricing for Ghostwriting

Ghostwriting a novel will require a lot of preparation work, research, and one-to-one interviews. How much time spent in these areas will be dependent on the individual project.

As a guide, I bill my time at £40 ph. Once the preparation has been done and writing begins, I can write at a speed of approximately 1000 words per hour, and a weekly word count that is acceptable for your budget, can be negotiated. You will also have obligations to meet to ensure the novel comes out to your specifications. You will need to engage and comment honestly about what you like and don’t like and editing will also be billed at the hourly rate.

If you want to get your story out but don’t know how, then drop me an email to discuss your ideas.
